Servicing & Self Inspection
As with all inflatable Life Jackets, it's a legal requirement to service them annually as per the manufactures instructions.
These Inflatable Jackets can be self serviced for the first two years, then they need to be professionally serviced thereafter.
PROOF OF PURCHASE
To ready yourself for when fishing authorities check your safety equipment, it is important you have your proof of purchase with you when out boating. The best way to do this is to put a copy of your PFD receipt/invoice inside a sealable bag like a Glad ziplock bag, and then put this in your pfd pocket.
Why do I need to do this? Your legal servicing requirements start from the date of purchase not the manufacturer date. Water Authorities may need to know what date your purchased it.

Excellent Product

A google search showed that Menace Marine had the exact same PFD and at a cheaper price than I had paid 3 years earlier from a different supplier for the ones needing replacing. These jackets are a similar model to the ones used by volunteer marine rescue units around Australia and are perfect for everyday use when the weather is marginal. They are not bulky, are comfortable to wear and provide excellent protection if you are accidentally thrown in the water - I have participated in several Search & Rescue operations on Moreton Bay this year where people have drowned because they were not wearing a PFD. If you don't buy and use one of these on the Bay then you are asking for trouble,

There was a law passed in 2010 that even a kayak or canoe rider can be fined without a jacket. Great all rounder
By: Adrian Brown (verified purchase)The PFD is a solid all rounder that I have used in my business for 2.5 years, my teams wear these at all times whilst on our vessels (70 in use). It is professionally constructed and quality parts are used in its construction and having the option for two colours is easy for identification between the auto(red) and manual(blue) jackets. Spare parts are readily available. The only short fall with the jackets is the bladder can come out, due to nothing stopping it coming out, a small piece of velcro will do the job . Discussions with the supplier has ensured that this small fix will be in place prior to my next order. 4.5 star rating, 5 when the velcro fix is applied.
